Publisher Description

Gino Santangelo always knew he could count on his daughter. But when he fled the country to escape prosecution and entrusted her with his hard-won empire, Gino realized that Lucky Santangelo was the female version of him...a woman who could seize the reins of power with all the cunning, drive and strength of a true Santangelo. Poised, sensuous, hungry for pleasure, Lucky as in love with power -- and determined to fight for it.

From New York penthouses and the villas of Southern France to the casinos of Las Vegas and the bedrooms of Beverly Hills, here's the unforgettable story of a woman on top of a world of love, sex and wealth -- where power is the ultimate aphrodisiac.

"I must admit I was absolutely shocked by how good this story was. I can't wait to read the second installment about Lucky. It was a very easy read but also had an addicting storyline. I could really see it as a mini series. I know that it was written during the Dallas, Falcon Crest era. It really is a soap opera. However, I highly suspect that there is some aspect of truth behind this novel. It also reminds me of the Godfather saga. Gino is a character that you can both love and love to hate. The same can be said for Carrie, Lucky ,Dario, Costa, Steven....... and the list goes on. I wish I would have read this novel as a teen, but I would not have been ready for the subject matter. Although set in the 1920s-1970s, it is still a story to stand time and is like reading a piece of fiction history."

" I actually read this book years ago. I still have the physical paperback book. Actually, I have 3 or 4 of the books in this series in paperback format. However, I recently decided to get and listen to the audiobook version. The audiobook version by Simon & Schuster Audio is actually done in two parts (Gino's Story and Lucky's Story) and is read by Jackie Collins herself. It reminded me why I love this series and the characters. Attempting to go through all the Lucky Santangelo books now. I may decide to go through the entire series in audiobook format or I may decide to read some in ebook format. I haven't decided yet. I have gone almost completely digital when it comes to books. "
