If you like “Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo” then go for these

No, your eyes and ears don’t deceive you, “The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo” is actually everywhere. Will it be a Netflix special soon? Probably, but before that happens, why not give a listen to one of the most popular books of the year? And, if you’re sitting there thinking, “Hey Audiobookstore, guess what I already did. Thanks for reminding me I can’t go back to a time before I knew the splendor of that novel”, we’re one step ahead of you. Below you’ll find a description of “Seven Husbands” just in case there’s someone still out there who has yet to listen, but for the rest of you, we have suggestions that will give you the same heartbreaking whimsy so beloved by Taylor Jenkins Reid.

The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo (obviously) – Taylor Jenkins Reid

Evelyn Hugo. Hollywood Darling turned infamous recluse, finally agrees to give a final interview at 79, and this time…she’s going to tell the truth. Unhappily married a total of 7 times (obviously), Hugo is ready to leave it all on the table, and explore her rises and falls, the uglier side of Hollywood, and the fact that rarely is the whole story ever what it seems.

Daisy Jones and the Six – Taylor Jenkins Reid

We’ve all heard the story a million times: Girl meets the band. The band has an inconspicuous start. Suddenly the band is catapulted into stardom. Band Members get lost in fame and fortune. Drugs. Fights. Egos. All of that abounds in this one, so if you were worried don’t be, here we also get a peek into what we rarely ever know in other predictable band formation/destruction tales. Why? How? Here there is none of that wondering, as we get to be in on the complex and emotional ride that is friendship amid fame, success, and everything you think you want.

Sinful Lives of Trophy Wives – Kristin Miller

Meet the trophy wives of some of the richest men on the California coast. Don’t look too closely though, or you might see straight through the fantasy they project and witness the darkness present in each couple. Think “Desperate Housewives” but more nuanced and plot-driven and less naked shenanigans in bushes.

The Swans of Fifth Avenue – Melanie Benjamin

A fictional account of Truman Capote and his legion of socialite female friends, affectionately termed his “swans”, in the 50s, 60s, and 70s. Capote is the fly on the wall as he bears witness to the good, the bad, and the ugly happening behind closed doors in wealthy Manhattan. Think audible “Real Housewives” with less plastic surgery and more chiffon.
