Robert Galbraith Books

Are you ready for this? Love her or hate her, did you know that Robert Galbraith is actually JK Rowling (and a controversial psychiatrist/feudal lord according to Google)? Well, she is, and under this pen name, she has written another series that’s just waiting to pull you in. Here we abandon wands for badges as we follow a detective and his partner as they solve crimes throughout the UK. With plans for “at least 10 more books” feel free to settle into a nice long audible ride.

The Silkworm

Get ready to love private eye Cormoran Strike, and not just because his name sounds like a really cool bird. He’s an army vet with a chip on his shoulder and a nose for investigation, and after a rough break-up, he could use every win he can find. But the real question is, can he find the culprit in the death of an internationally glamourous supermodel… is there even a culprit at all, or was it nothing more than a tragic suicide? Strike will have to infiltrate the seedy underbelly of celebrity, and try and come out unscathed as he catches a killer.

Career of Evil

Strike’s secretary Robin is officially an investigator, but the ink is barely dry on her new business cards before she’s accepting a package that turns out to be a severed leg (we have to wonder what the postage on that was). Assuming it’s a gory and ominous warning, the two begin the search for whoever is looking to exact revenge (as well as the unfortunate owner of the leg). Things turn personal, however, when Robin is almost the murderer’s next target, and tensions grow as they fight to find the killer…and preserve their friendship.

Lethal White

Get ready to go on a journey with this one, from Parliament to the countryside, and through the very fabric of time. Strike is called upon by a young man who seeks help solving a murder he claims to have witnessed in childhood. His story has been discounted by other investigators as he has a history of mental illness, and he’s down to his last hope. Ever the hero for the underdog, Strike agrees to assist and discovers that the supposed killing Billy witnessed is just the tip of the iceberg. The ending here is wild, just get ready.

Troubled Blood

Say hello to Strike’s first cold case, one that’s 40 years old to boot. New world meets old as Strike and Robin follow all manner of clues from Tarot to Mediums to discover what really happened to wife and mother Margot Bambourough. This is a case where nothing is at it seems, and just because it’s old doesn’t mean danger isn’t ever-present the closer they get to the answer. Also, Robin’s recently divorced and things are getting…complicated between boss and assistant.

The Ink Black Heart

A hefty dose of guilt propels Robin and her business partner Cormoran Strike to take up the mantle in discovering who is behind the online alias Anomie- the one they presume is behind the murder of Edie Ledwell. Ledwell is a famed cartoonist and co-creator of a cartoon named…The Ink Black Heart. His pleas for help are denied by Robin and days later he’s murdered in the setting of his cartoon, and both Strike and Robin are galvanized to find the killer, both for justice and to clear their consciences.
