Stephen King Audio Books

Born on September 21, 1947, in Portland, Maine, Stephen Edwin King is an American novelist whose best sellers have sold over 350 million copies worldwide. He graduated high school in 1966, and from the University of Maine, Orono, in 1970 with a BA in English.

Many refer to Stephen King as the master of horror and fantasy stories, because of his reputation as the author of more than 50 bestselling horror books worldwide. He has also received the National Medal of Honor and National Book Foundation Medal as a result of his writing prowess.

Since his first professional short story, The Glass Floor in 1967, he has written a series of bestsellers that have been adapted into feature films, miniseries, television series, and even comic books. King has published over 60 novels, 5 non-fiction books, and over 200 short stories. He also published the comic series, The Gunslinger Born, which is based on The Dark Tower series.

From his first novel in 1974, Carrie, to other notable horror classics such as Pet Sematary and It, Stephen has continued to deliver stories with intriguing and shocking twists to his reading audience.

King's writing career has produced several awards, including the World Fantasy Award for Life Achievement and the Canadian Booksellers Association Lifetime Achievement Award. Stephen King is married to Tabitha King. He spends his winters in Florida and summers in Bangor and Center Lovell, Maine with his wife, children, Naomi Rachel, Joe Hill, and Owen Phillip, and four grandchildren.
