" Best pregnancy book I have read so far. I appreciate how it explains in medical terminology why something is good or bad. "

" Hands-down the best pregnancy book I've read thus far. Really really good. (Oh, and for those of you that didn't know yet ... SURPRISE!) "

  • 5 out of 55 out of 55 out of 55 out of 55 out of 5 Michelle | 2/6/2014

" I absolutley LOVE how this book is written. It is filled with metaphors and humorous pictures that illustrate how my baby is developing and the science and history behind it. This is probably the best pregnancy book I have read. "

  • 4 out of 54 out of 54 out of 54 out of 54 out of 5 Erin | 1/27/2014

" A lot to read, so I never made it from cover to cover, but a good book for reference when you're pregnant. I found the exercises in the back of the book very helpful. "

  • 4 out of 54 out of 54 out of 54 out of 54 out of 5 Alyssa | 1/10/2014

" Really well written, and easy to understand and to share with my partner. Great book for traditional info. "

  • 4 out of 54 out of 54 out of 54 out of 54 out of 5 Burgess232 | 1/2/2014

" Great book on pregnancy with enjoyable humor and funny illustrations "

  • 1 out of 51 out of 51 out of 51 out of 51 out of 5 Cindy | 1/2/2014

" Talked about precautions that I had never heard of before (e.g., flying on a plane exposes your baby to RADIATION) that just made me feel bad and didn't seem to come up in any other resource, so I stopped reading it. "

  • 4 out of 54 out of 54 out of 54 out of 54 out of 5 Mckaye | 11/30/2013

" I really enjoyed this book because it takes a look at the actual physical/medical reasons for the things you experience during pregnancy. It was very informative and I enjoyed reading it. "

  • 4 out of 54 out of 54 out of 54 out of 54 out of 5 Crystal | 9/28/2013

" Very in depth, scientific approach to pregnancy. I learned a lot of new things! "

  • 3 out of 53 out of 53 out of 53 out of 53 out of 5 Alissa | 7/28/2013

" This is an informative book and I like that it was not done in the usual chronological order. Also, it's entertaining to read. The doctors have a great voice. "

  • 4 out of 54 out of 54 out of 54 out of 54 out of 5 Julie | 1/15/2013

" Always love the "YOU" docs! The info on vaccines at the end was particularly helpful, although I'm still undecided on the safety of vaccinations given to children so early...still need to hash that out and read other sources. "

  • 5 out of 55 out of 55 out of 55 out of 55 out of 5 Jennifer | 12/27/2012

" This was a fantastic resource for me to learn about my pregnancy in a practical, accessible way. It was packed with useful information and I'm glad it covered a wide range of topics, without being overwhelming. "

  • 3 out of 53 out of 53 out of 53 out of 53 out of 5 Chelsie | 11/3/2012

" Good and informative, but not the greatest book I have seen on pregnancy! I didn't learn anything new that I haven't seen in other books. It was good, but my advice is maybe just borrow this one for the library and give it a quick look over. "

  • 4 out of 54 out of 54 out of 54 out of 54 out of 5 Mary | 10/21/2012

" Great description of physiology involved in pregnancy and how it relates to health behaviors. Very different from the more directly applicable what to expect book. "

  • 3 out of 53 out of 53 out of 53 out of 53 out of 5 Molly | 5/25/2012

" focuses a lot on the science of having a baby, which is interesting but I didn't find myself refering to this book very often..just read it through once "

  • 4 out of 54 out of 54 out of 54 out of 54 out of 5 Ycelle | 5/13/2012

" Way better read for expectant mothers than "what to expect when you're expecting". Informative. Practical. Makes sense. "

  • 2 out of 52 out of 52 out of 52 out of 52 out of 5 Talia | 3/7/2012

" I read this once about 4 months into my pregnancy, then never picked it up again; I guess I just didn't feel the need to. This book is also heavy on scare tactics: eat Omega-3s or your baby will be DOOOOOOMED. "

  • 3 out of 53 out of 53 out of 53 out of 53 out of 5 Monica | 2/20/2012

" This book is different from most pregnancy guides because it does not that the traditional week 1....week 2 approach. Instead the authors hightlight the ways a pregnant woman changes and what her baby does on its own. The illustrations were cute but not as informative as a real diagram would be. "

  • 5 out of 55 out of 55 out of 55 out of 55 out of 5 Nicole Spoor | 2/19/2012

" Very informative. Gave a lot of information that isn't found in similar books. "

  • 4 out of 54 out of 54 out of 54 out of 54 out of 5 Amy | 2/9/2012

" This was a pretty informative book. I think I prefer the week-by-week style, but most of them skip over the 'why' - this was good. "

  • 4 out of 54 out of 54 out of 54 out of 54 out of 5 Jessica Welch | 10/4/2011

" The pictures of this book alone make it worth reading. They are so funny. "

  • 4 out of 54 out of 54 out of 54 out of 54 out of 5 Kristin | 5/19/2011

" Great book for the mother-to-be! I recommend this over What to expect when you are expecting. "

  • 1 out of 51 out of 51 out of 51 out of 51 out of 5 Jessica | 4/24/2011

" Didn't like this one at all. I think that there are much better books out there on pregnancy and childbirth. I found that I flipped past most pages and skimmed most of the text. "

  • 2 out of 52 out of 52 out of 52 out of 52 out of 5 Lori | 4/5/2011

" Just OK. There were some really good sections but they were sort of lost in this giant book of blah. "

  • 4 out of 54 out of 54 out of 54 out of 54 out of 5 Melanie | 3/15/2011

" It is an informative reference to have on hand with little ones at home. I did read it from front to back, however, it will need to be picked up time and again as the need arises. "

  • 3 out of 53 out of 53 out of 53 out of 53 out of 5 Jesse | 2/7/2011

" Wouldn't want it to be the only book I read before becoming a parent, but it's an excellent supplement. "
