"While an interesting aside in Andre Norton's Witchworld series, the ending left a bit to be desired and I felt that the plot smoldered a little with some unknown reason preventing any absolute resolution of the issue. " — Eric (4 out of 5 stars)

" As great as it was the first time. "
" Old school fantasy. One of the first to ever have a female protagonist. "

" The first Witch World series book that I read, and the one that hooked me on Andre Norton. "
" This is my favorite book of the original Witch World series. "
" My absolute favourite of all the Witch World novels. "
" I think this is really the third book in the Witch World series, and was definitely weaker than the first two. But Norton has a way of creating atmosphere that I really like. "
" I liked this book better than the others I read in this series. I'm not a big Andre Norton fan, but her books are usually a decent light-weight read. This one is good, though. "
" Didn't like this book much at all. An endless quest, unclear motivations, questions about the land the Were Riders were from unanswered. I thought it was boring and predictable. "
" My favorite in the Witch World series. Rich and full of memorable detail. Romantic underdogs, beautiful. "
" I was almost to the end of this book before I decided whether I liked or not. But I did enjoy this slow-paced, surprisingly romantic novel. Gillan is a strong heroine and I enjoyed reading about her journey. "
" This had been my mom's book from when she was in high school. I had no idea it was part of a series. Standing on its own it is an excellent read. "
" This is among my favorite books ever written. I re-read it periodically as comfort. "
