" Found it kind of confusing and incoherent "

" Re-read for nth time this year, just to see if it stands for me still and, oh yes it does do that. I bloody love this book. Emily confirmed as the bravest, weirdest, best Bronte sister. Once went to Haworth to see for myself. Moors cold, windy, wild and vast, exhilarating, not half as grim as the closed, coal-stinking town where Brother Bran died drunk in the gutter. Vicious, judgy, isolated village in tough, unforgiving Yorkshire. No wonder they escaped through books. But how did a sheltered young thing so devastatingly pin down the essence of a passion desperate enough to endure beyond the grave? "

" After I sunk my teeth into the writing style, I really liked this novel. I could see what a WOW factor this novel was in back in the day, seeing how it is an easy classic still today. "

" A fantastic read with lots of inter-character relationships. Very compelling and eloquently written by my favorite of the Bronte sisters. "

" Simply amazing. Call me a fan-girl if you will, but I refuse to villainize Heathcliff, and I'll even admit to having a bit of a crush on him. All that aside, I don't think I've ever felt such an intense relationship with the characters (love AND hate) as I have with Wuthering Heights. One of my all time favorites. "

" Really didn't understand the hype of this story. It was so depressing and boring. I will try to reasd it again.. "

  • 3 out of 53 out of 53 out of 53 out of 53 out of 5 Msmith | 1/8/2014

" A good, dark story, but as with all the books by the Brontes, features a masochistic relationship between a woman & an abusive man. If you've read bios of the Brontes sisters and their obnoxious father and brother, it's not hard to understand why they seem incapable of rising above dysfunctionalism. "

" one of the most emotional and impressive books i have ever read. "

" I loved the unrequited love story between Heathcliff and Cathy, however Bronte's colloquial style can be tiring at times. The relationship between Healthcliff and Cathy, paralleled by nature, is notable. There are many subtleties within the book that make it a timeless classic. "

  • 4 out of 54 out of 54 out of 54 out of 54 out of 5 Mary Henry | 12/17/2013

" Heathcliff is one depressing guy! I agree with the reviewer who wrote that you either love or hate this book. There is no in between with this story. I would not be able to read this a second time, but I am glad I can cross this off my list. "

" I enjoyed Wuthering Heights on my second read through, the first time I read it I was way to concentrated on doing an analysis it for my GCSE English Literature essay! That it a real shame because the book is a masterpiece of it's age. I fondly think of it as popular fiction of it's day. "

  • 4 out of 54 out of 54 out of 54 out of 54 out of 5 Dawn | 2/1/2013
