Lockwood, the new tenant of Thrushcross Grange on the bleak Yorkshire moors, is forced to seek shelter one night at Wuthering Heights, the home of his landlord. There he discovers the history of the tempestuous evening that took place years before: of the intense passion between the foundling Heathcliff and Catherine Earnshaw, and her betrayal of him. As Heathcliff's bitterness and vengeance is visited upon the next generation, their innocent heirs must struggle to escape the legacy of the past. Download and start listening now!

" Strangely compelling. Wuthering Heights, is, as so many know, a fascinating read. While I left the book feeling a a little heartbroken and lost, it was one of the classics that I most enjoyed reading and the story and characters have never left me. While the characters are not necessarily individuals you will fall in love with, you will fall in love with the telling of their stories and if you are a reader who responds to drama, intensity, passion and character driven novels, then this is a must-read for you. " It's a good book, one of the classics you should read. The problem is that while I was reading I knew what will happen. The plot was predictable and I expected almost everything that happened. But I liked the story, and I think it has a good complex of characters. The first and the last part were my favorite. I really recommend it for everyone. "

" I really loved this novel. But I think I was 13 when I read it. So...don't take this as a ringing endorsement within the realm of adulthood. "

" The best book I have ever read after Harry Potter. The descriptions, the imagination, the drama, anguish, sorrow and of course hate. Its a really good story and worthy of the classic title bestowed upon it. "

" The characters in this book reminded me of cliche high school melodrama tropes. In other words, throughout most of the story I wanted to slap them in the face. Besides that bit of frustration it was well written, for the time I suppose. "

  • 4 out of 54 out of 54 out of 54 out of 54 out of 5 Mary | 3/29/2011

" It began quite boringly, and this was the reason this was the second time I tried my hand at reading it. But as it proceeded, the story evolved, it became the sort of book that kept me up until 4am. "

  • 4 out of 54 out of 54 out of 54 out of 54 out of 5 Sandi Burns | 11/24/2009

" This story was ok. Only hard part to follow was the character they were talking about at the time due to trying to keep track of the names (some characters were referred to by different names at different times). "

" Read at speed for an AS class, I was surprised to find that Catherine and Heathcliff's story took up comparatively little of the book. Enjoyed the description of the moors. "
