Lt. Mellie Blake is looking forward to beginning her training as a flight nurse. She is not looking forward to writing a letter to a man she's never met - even if it is anonymous and part of a morale-building program. Lt. Tom MacGilliver, an officer stationed in North Africa, welcomes the idea of an anonymous correspondence - he's been trying to escape his infamous name for years.

As their letters crisscross the Atlantic, Tom and Mellie develop a unique friendship despite not knowing the other's true identity. When both are transferred to Algeria, the two are poised to meet face-to-face for the first time. Will they overcome their fears and reveal who they are? Or will their future be held hostage by their pasts?

Combining a flair for romance with excellent research and attention to detail, Sarah Sundin vividly brings to life the perilous challenges of WWII aviation, nursing - and true love.

" I love anything by Sarah Sundin and this is no exception! Mellie was such a character I related to not just on a surfacy level, but on a deeper level. I felt her pain and I felt her struggle. I also related to Tom which is rare for me to relate to the main male character. But I felt like I could love Tom. Well written and so historically accurate, it's amazing. I read it in just a few days that is how great it was. "

" With Every Letter is an excellent book that looks at the experiences of flight nurses in WWII wrapped in the story of Mellie and Lt. Tom MacGilliver as he tries to escape the tainted legacy of his infamous name. A great read, it leaves you on the edge of your chair with several unexpected twists and turns throughout. It's an excellent book 1 for this new series; am looking forward to see where she takes this Wings of the Nightingale series in Book 2!! "

" Good read. Lots of research went into this WWII historical romance. Interesting plot, if unsurprising, but a good romance. I liked the variety of characters in their differing plot roles, especially Sesame. "

" I loved everything about this book. When I first started reading it I didn't think I was going to like it but I ended up falling in love with the book. I spent most of the book wondering hoping that it would all work out in the end and it did. I saw a lot of myself in the main character so I could relate and I think that it made the book for me. The author doesn't get bogged down in the details and puts just enough details to keep you interested but not so may that you get lost. This is such a sweet love story. I know that everyone would love to read it. "

" This was a great book to read and learn much about WWII. The characters were relatable and it was interesting to see how they overcame insecurities and past difficulties. Good, clean, romance. "

" It was better than I expected. The characters grappled with real issues as they went about enlistment and all that entails while writing letters to each other. Good themes to grapple with, decent love story, entertaining read. "
