Publisher Description

Mary Alice Brannigan doesn’t believe in the supernatural. Nor does she expect to find that Dreamland, the decaying amusement park she’s been hired to restore, is a prison for the five Untouchables, the most powerful demons in the history of the world. Plus, there’s a guy she’s falling hard for, and there’s something about him that’s not quite right.

But rocky romances and demented demons aren’t the only problems in Dreamland: Mab’s also coping with a crooked politician, a supernatural raven, a secret government agency, an inexperienced sorceress, an unsettling inheritance, and some mind-boggling revelations from her past. As her personal demons wreck her newfound relationship and real demons wreck the park, Mab faces down immortal evil and discovers what everybody who’s ever been to an amusement park knows: The end of the ride is always the wildest.

"This novel is set at an amusement park in the middle of the Ohio River. The town of Parkersburg is mentioned several times and it appears that the author is putting Parkersburg in Ohio (it is actually in West Virginia, but is on the river). Anyway, the amusement park is more than just an amusement park, it is a demon keep which imprisons the five Untouchable demons. The bulk of the story centers around Mab, the woman restoring the park, and a group of park workers who make up the Guardia who keep watch over the demons. Anyway, there are bad guys, demons, minions, possessed teddy bears, government agents, and more in the offbeat cast of characters. I found myself laughing out loud several times and thoroughly enjoyed the romp through the demon prison/amusement park."

" I always enjoy Crusie and Mayer, there's no denying that. I think I just read this book at the wrong time. I think it was a bit too light to have followed Diana Gabaldon's Echo In The Bone. Good, cute story and one that I enjoyed, but I think I wanted a bit more from it. I think that I'll give myself a few more months and then I'll re-read it. "

" Agnes and the Hitman is still my favorite book from Crusie and Mayer. This one kind of fell short for me. There were definitely some funny moments, but the characters didn't interest me. It was one of those books that I just want to finish quickly, not because it's good and I can't wait for the ending, but because I just want to get it over with. With that said, I can't wait for what these two will come up with next. I hope it will be as good or even better than Agnes and the Hitman. "

" I loved this book. It was so interesting to me at the end of it I wished that there was a sequel. I also went and read the little prequel they have on the website and wished it had been turned into a full novel. Would read both a prequel and sequel novel in a heartbeat if written. "

" Pretty cute, but not my favorite Crusie (or even favorite Crusie/Mayer combo). I didn't connect with the characters the way I usually do in Crusie novels-- maybe there were just too many?-- and the snappy dialogue wasn't as good as some of her other works. Still, it was a fun, quick read. "

" Books by this powerhouse team of authors are one of guilty pleasures in life. The balance of action hero from Bob and the pert relational parts from Jennifer make it a truly fun book to read. Same for Agnes and the Hit Man. Also, the premise and plot lines keep you going in taut suspense. "
