Publisher Description

Kayla is a 16-year-old girl who was adopted when she was little. She lives a normal life, with great friends, loving adoptive parents, and well...a not-so-great boyfriend. But the reason why she was given up for adoption was far from any usual reason. She was meant to be kept away from the Academy and anything else related to the supernatural beings that could hurt her.

Unfortunately for Kayla, it was only a matter of time before she encountered the creatures from the Otherworld, and there is just no running away from the beings that she can now see. In trying to protect Kayla by keeping her away from the Academy, she may have just been put in even more danger.

"I like this book. I wanted to wait to read it until i bought the second one, and im so glad i did, cuz otherwise i might have been tempted to throw my kindle across the room at the ending. LoL It ended in such an OMG moment. I like Kayla, and Hunter, but they are both stubborn, and i wanted to smack them across the head a few times. lol I really like them together and i cant wait to see where things go with them. I even thought there was a good villain, and by good i mean he was good at being a bad guy lol It was a good read, and i cant wait to read the next one. I definitely recommend reading it."

" I don't think it should have been a series. Everything could have been fit into one book and cut out all the other stuff. A lot of repetition happened here. "

" The essential plot to the book was actually decent, I think what really put me off was the way it was actually written (the wording and such) but I tried to over look that as much as possible considering I am much older than the intended audience. So all in all it was ok, I am sure it would have been better if I was actually a teenager, but I am not. "

" read the first 3 chapters, thats about all i could take. There was so much teen slang, it hardly made much sense. The characters felt 1 dimensional, it was disappointing "

" Decent premise but poor execution. The language was stilted, not conforming to general slang or speech. Very irritating. "

" I really enjoyed this book. It was a new and exciting story that really had me intrigued from the beginning. It had plenty of drama & mystery; my only real complaint is that it was too short! I can't wait to find out what happens next! "
