Publisher Description

Leader of the most powerful army in the heavens, Zacharel has been deemed nearly too dangerous, too ruthless - and if he isn't careful, he'll lose his wings. But this warrior with a heart of ice will not be deterred from his missions at any cost...until a vulnerable human tempts him with a carnal pleasure he's never known before.

Accused of a crime she did not commit, Annabelle Miller has spent four years in an institution for the criminally insane. Demons track her every move, and their king will stop at nothing to have her. Zacharel is her only hope for survival, but is the brutal angel with a touch as hot as hell her salvation - or her ultimate damnation?

"I really enjoyed this spin-off of Showalter's Lords of the Underworld series. I had been intrigued by Zacharel since we met him in those books and was hoping to learn more about him. And what a backstory! Showalter thrives on creating tortured, bad boy heroes and Zacharel is one of her best. I loved how she was able to balance his darker side with the softer side that he discovered in this book. I thought Annabelle was a great heroine with an intriguing backstory that sets her apart from others in paranormal romance. I really admired her strength despite all the odds against her. The love story was slow-burning yet satisfying while the external plot was exciting without being overshadowing. I look forward to the next one in the series!"

" This was great! This is looking to be another awesome series from Showalter. I was really intrigued by Zacharel since he started popping up in the LOTU series and was really excited to see him get his own book! It did not disappoint! We got to learn his story and find out why he was so emotionally cold as well as get to see him thaw! We also got to learn more about the angels and of course there was a fun appearance by some of our favorite LOTU and their leading ladies! This spin-off series looks to be a great addition to the world of the LOTU. "

" Showalter's Lords of the Underworld was a captivating series. Her writing was gripping, sexy and witty. Naturally I had high expectations for the first book in the Angels of the Dark series. It started off well, but part way through the writing did not seem to fit Showalter's style. It became rather amateur and I lost all interest in the outcome. "

" I would say 3.5. The main character Zacheral is hot!! And although the female lead character is a victim, she doesn't act like one and kicks butt. I will read the next one when it comes out. "

" Ooooh, what a nice spin-off to the Lords of the Underworld Series. Zacharel is such a broody, miserable bastard but his story was intriguing and enlightening. Waiting eagerly for the next book in this new series. "

" I LOVE anything Gena Showalter writes. And this book is no exception. It was intense, deep and I just loved the plot. I also found it clever the way she wove into her story some spirituality and religious connotations. I can't wait to read Koldo and the rest of the fallen's stories! "

" I did enjoy the story of Zacharel- the bad-boy angel and Annabelle- the tortured woman who falls in love with him, but it mostly just made me want to reread Nalini Singh's Angels' Blood. "

" I devoured Wicked Nights by Gena Showalter in 48-hours. That should pain a clear picture of my thoughts on the book. The various characters kept me reading, and I'm willing to lay bets on which angel gets the next book in this series. Fun story, sexy characters, and an enjoyable HEA. "
