Southern belle Leelee Satterfield leaves her beloved Memphis to follow her husband's pipe dream: to manage a quaint Vermont inn. But when they arrive, young daughters and ancient Yorkie in tow, they discover pretty fast that there's a truckload of things nobody tells you about Vermont until you live there.

When Leelee is left swindled and snowbound, she's forced to confront the true depth of her Southern grit in this foreign town. Download and start listening now!

" I really liked this becasue it was about running an inn in Vermont.
Someday, I'd love to try that somewhere. The main character was not easy for me to like, but the story was good--if not completely believable. "

" Totally predictable and reminded me of several more well writen books. I wouldn't bother reading this unless you want a cross between an episode of "Newhart", "designing women", and "the ya ya sisterhood". Yawn "

" If I had read this book a few years ago, I probably wouldn't have liked it at all. However, having lived in the southeast and Vermont and recently having gone through culture shock as a mother, I totally could identify with the main character and couldn't put this one down. "

" Probably because I listened to the audio version, I really enjoyed this book. It was light and fun and clean and so well read - just a fun book to listen to. Probably not great literature, but if you want to read something that is entertaining and not taxing, this is a good choice. "

  • 4 out of 54 out of 54 out of 54 out of 54 out of 5 Liz | 2/7/2011

" It is a fun and engaging read. It was a fast read, but I thoroughly enjoyed it and appreciated the emergence of the strong female role. I cared about the characters and what happened with their lives. I recommend this book to others. Enjoy! "
