" I felt a LOT like main character Victoria when I was in college. I felt like things were out of control that were totally in my control, I just didn't know it. I'm envious that she finally figured out how to take control before it was too late. Meaning she didn't go on and graduate with the useless degree and instead went against all advice and did what felt right. "

" Listened to it. Slowish start, but then i got very involved and looked forward to the story unfolding. Liked most of the characters and the dialogue was real. 20 year old at college, mom and dad divorce. Mom homeless with old smelly dog. "

" No one covers mother-daughter relationships quite as eloquently as Laura Moriarty. I believe she's one of the best writers out there today. "

" I continue to appreciate the author's ability to portray how families can quietly unravel. There are no shocking plot twists or mysterious occurrences in her stories, but she is skilled at taking apart each relationship and putting it back together with the cracks exposed. "

" It's fun to read a book that has your town in it. Another good read from Laura Moriarty. "

" Elementary read and simple plot, but it kept me reading nonetheless. Hit home for me in a few aspects; I found a way to connect with each of the characters. It was nice to see that no matter how screwed up things may look there is a way out. "

  • 5 out of 55 out of 55 out of 55 out of 55 out of 5 Ann | 2/26/2013

" Excellent book! I was sad to finish the book because I really liked the characters. I also enjoyed the book as it was set in Lawrence, KS (KU) where my husband went to school. Can't wait to read her other books. "

  • 2 out of 52 out of 52 out of 52 out of 52 out of 5 Abby | 1/17/2013

" The author writes in a easy, facile manner with a good ear for dialogue. She is also adept at spinning interesting and realistic predicaments for her characters to get into and out of. However, the plot's narrative arc is weak and leaves many loose ends untied. "

  • 3 out of 53 out of 53 out of 53 out of 53 out of 5 Angela Leigh | 12/15/2012

" This is the 3rd book of Laura Moriarty's that I have read and I am enjoying this one as much as I have the other 2! I only have 50 pages to go and can't wait to get to bed and finish it! "

  • 5 out of 55 out of 55 out of 55 out of 55 out of 5 Debbie | 11/26/2012

" This was a great book that was hard to put down. The characters are very real and its easy to feel their pain and conflict. The mother/daughter relationship at the center of the book is developed and interesting . Their relationship keeps turning the tables as they both mature. "

  • 2 out of 52 out of 52 out of 52 out of 52 out of 5 Carol Ann | 8/19/2012

" I wanted to like this book & was excited when a friend shared her ARC. It took me a long time to get into the story & it did redeem itself as it went on but only the mother interested me (devoted to the dog--gets me every time) Doesn't compare to "The Rest of Her Life", which was very good. "
