"I found this book very enjoyable. It's a clean book with no curse words and non-descriptive sex. It's a very sweet book beginning with Chase Logan, a care-free drifter who has no intention of settling down, heads out to tell Jessie Strong that her husband is dead. While he is there, the four year old that Jesse wants to adopt shows up and without a husband Jesse won't get her. With pleading eyes, Chase stays and pretends to be her husband just until the adoption is settled. On the day it's time to leave, Jesse gets sick and Chase feels the need to stay. Then while Jessie is in town she is manhandled by a lowlife named Lonnie, once again Chase feels they are in danger and needs protection. But once Lonnie is captured, Chase feels Lonnie's brother, Joe, will come to Jessie for revenge. Chase decides it's best to pack everyone upand move them to his abandoned home where he decides he will then leave. But this entire time he has grown attached to little Sarah and to Jessie and he realizes he finally has a family and he's content where he is. That is until Joe shows up and rips that family apart."

" This is a sweet historical romance, but not saccharine-sweet. And the characters are so well-developed I felt myself pulled into their lives, which only happens with the best of books. After I finished it I had to sit and savor it a while. It truly is a "feel good" book, and sometimes that is exactly what everyone needs! I loved the "Little House on the Prairie" books as a girl, and when I describe this as "Little House" for grownups I mean that in the most complimentary way. It made me long for simpler times. I can't wait to read more of Caroline's books! "

" It was a cute storyline although a little hard to believe. One short love scene that started to make me skim... but since the couple was married, I was just ok with it. Still a fun read for those who like a mystery, action, wild west romance. "
