" Great book, as always from Whitlow - keeps you guessing "

  • 5 out of 55 out of 55 out of 55 out of 55 out of 5 Kandy Streety | 2/12/2014

" Whitlow's style is comparable to John Grisham. This book was a great mixture of suspense and emotional soul-searching. I loved the powerful quotes that Elias makes throughout the book, as well as the scripture references. Tom Crane's transformation was perfect. "

" Not as strangely controversial as the author's previous series, yet also not as interesting, more mystery than legal thriller, very weak in places but still a decent story. "

" It was heavy on religion and light on mystery and light on legal "stuff". I don't mind a little ethical/theological background to keep my brain thinking about it but there is a fine line to when it gets too "preachy". Not a bad read but I am not sure how often I'll return to this author. "

" A decent read although just a tad predictable. I accurately foresaw many outcomes early on but there was still enough tension and subtle twists to avoid being trite. The scene on the Ocoee was of special interest to me. "

  • 2 out of 52 out of 52 out of 52 out of 52 out of 5 Simone | 12/13/2013

" Mediocre. I could not bring myself to care about the characters, and the story was not very original. "

" This book was really good. I love murder mystery books but I also like the christian part of it as well. "

" Fast paced, page turner, full of twists and turns and page 396 sums it up: 'Evil's opportunity will END. What God has done in our lives....will last FOREVER!!! "

" It was a good, decent mystery. I would read another of his. I didn't LOVE it. Sometimes religious fiction can get a little corny, but I would take that any day over some of the smut out there. "

" Great story with twists and turns but with the message of forgiveness and redemption through our Lord Christ Jesus! "

" Another great Robert Whitlow book. The main character is caught up in a web of lies and betrayal when he goes home to close his father's law office. Reminds me of John Grisham's novels except with a decidedly Christian theme. "

  • 5 out of 55 out of 55 out of 55 out of 55 out of 5 Kathryn | 1/5/2013

" This book is terrific! The action is fast-paced and there are no lulls in the story. I plan to read it again someday - I liked it that much! "

  • 2 out of 52 out of 52 out of 52 out of 52 out of 5 Ashley Gable | 10/23/2012

" This story was predictable and pretty bland. A John Grisham-style legal "thriller" with obnoxiously overt religious evangelical themes throughout. Not my thing....... "
