Teenagers Sheridan Kohl and Jason Wyatt were parked at the lake in Whiterock, Tennessee, when a stranger wearing a ski mask shot them both. Sheridan lived but Jason died - and the stranger was never caught. Even though Sheridan's family moved away right afterward, she's never been able to put the crime behind her.

And now that someone doesn't want her to come home.

Because of a new development in the case, Sheridan returns to Whiterock. But when she's attacked a second time, it's only because of Jason's stepbrother, Cain Granger, that she survives - and Cain's the last person she wants to face. If not for their history, if not for her, Jason wouldn't have been in that parked car.

Cain knows that whoever killed his brother probably isn't a stranger at all. But figuring out that person's identity is easier said than done - especially since the killer seems to be taunting them both: watch me. Download and start listening now!

" The books in this series are getting progressively better! Hope the next trilogy is just as good! "

" Can we say M-A-G-N-I-f-I-C-E-N-T!, the way that Brenda Novak introduces the characters and ties them to the story is great. Sheridan decides to go back to her routes from where she grew up, and 12 years ago her boyfriend was shot, deciding to go back and figure out the unsolved crime, she starts getting attacked, and meets up with an old fling, it just so happens everything happens around Cain's place is he the cause, why is everything happening around him? Is it Cain, is it a frame up? I tell you half way through the book I guessed whom it maybe, and I must admit i guessed right, then as i read on I realized I was second guessing myself. I highly recommend it. "

" Even better than the first two, Watch Me is The Last Stand hitting its stride. Out the gate, Sheridan's story pulls you in, and you're immediately engaged with every single character as soon as they hit the stage. Cain? Oh, my. This isn't a case of just a dreamy hot alpha male, because while Cain is all those things you expect out of a lead, he's also hard but vulnerable. He's more comfortable out with his dogs, ignoring the hurt and soldiering through past pain while turning every woman he comes into contact with inside out. This is a good man that never got the chance to show that. You'll bleed for this guy. And you'll feel the confusion and ache that Sheridan experiences coming back home, facing old demons, as well as the boy that she gave both her heart and virtue. Yes, this is one of those coming home to old loves stories, except with a murder, sketchy police force, and a side of who-in-the-hell-is-killing-everyone? But watching Cain heal Sheridan? Here's my breath you just stole, you sneaky romantic. Because believe me when I tell you that for a "romance" writer, Novak doesn't take the easy way out all the time. Yes, you will get a HEA. You'll get that. But on the way there Novak gets pretty ballsy, and I like that about her. She's not afraid of a little grit and a little bit of, "Holy Sh*t!" And this story packs plenty of that. Can you get away without reading the first two? Yes. The Last Stand is written in a way that connects, but could still work as stand alones. That being said, any series is even more enjoyable by reading them all, and the first two are pretty good, even though so far Watch Me is my favorite. Cain hit the same spot that Romain did, but even more, because I'm a sucker for going home to find that the first boy was the IT boy all along. "

" 3rd in The Last Stand series and I liked it a lot. It had all the required elements I look for. Romance, suspense, mystery and a few red herrings to try to throw me off track. Though I have to admit I guessed pretty early in the book and stayed with my guess even through those red herrings. "
