After a brushfire sweeps through the desert of Lake Shanoha, the Kiahawks have no pasture for their horses so they offer them to the Triple Spur as a peace offering. The owner of the Triple Spur blames the Kiahawks for her husband's death and orders the horses to be driven over a cliff and killed. When the Kiahawks learn of the slaughter, vengeance is played out on the Triple Spur as the Kiahawks rain death on the ranch hands. Chawkaterro, still bent on taking control of the Kiahawks, moves his spirit from the dying body he's been using and enters the body that is most important to the future of the Kiahawks.
