"This was a lovely little story about a penniless girl still haunted by the memory of leaving her own father to drown. She is drawn into the world of clairvoyance and is at first charmed by her new life and the perks that come with it, but then things begin to turn much more sinister..." — Miffy (4 out of 5 stars)

" This was the third book I have read about Spiritualism and I have to admit that I find it so fascinating. I'm not a believer of any kind of spiritual anything and the fact that people are so easily willing to believe and let themselves get conned out of money is amusing. Based on true stories and events this was fun historical fiction. "
" Brilliant. Made me want to find out more about mediums and how they operated in Victorian times as well as baby farms. Characters you could really care about too-I hope there's a sequel! "
" Did not finish it, was not in the story, a shame ... "
" 2.5 maybe. I liked the whole idea and structure of the story, but the protagonist was just unbelievably stupid. Listened to audio from audible.com. Narration was ok, but production value not great. Complete review is here. "
" An interesting insight into the world of seances. "
" Really? So predictable, and the ending so cheesy. "
