As fans of the Vampirates series know, nothing is quite as it seems when Vampirates and pirates are involved, so twins Connor and Grace have to keep up their guards. But with every new challenge pulling them farther apart, it seems that the time has finally come for the twins to explore their separate fates.

Grace, unable to forget the blindness she caused her Vampirate friend Lorcan, chooses to journey with him to see if his sight can be restored. As for Connor, he must endure the latest addition to the Diablo crew: Captain Wrathe's awful nephew, who seems to dislike him from the very start. Will both twins find success, and what will it take to bring them back together? Download and start listening now!

" Definitely best yet. I'm looking forward to Black Heart and hope that it wraps up the loose ends for a good finish. "

" This is the best one so far! I couldn't put it down. I only wish the book focused more on Grace and less on Conner. Although they are twins, and both their stories should be equally important, Grace's story is so much more interesting. When I read the parts about Conner I found myself skipping ahead to where Grace came in. This shouldn't be. Even so, this is a fantastic series and definately worth buying. I liked getting to know Lorcan better, and I hope he continues to be in main focus in later books. I can't wait until I get the next one. "

" This is a good continuation of the Vampirates. I still really like the way he portrays vampires. There is always a choice and a consequence for your actions. Engaging story and memorable characters. "

  • 5 out of 55 out of 55 out of 55 out of 55 out of 5 Kathleen | 12/23/2013

" I might have enjoyed this more if I had read the books that came before this one. This title definitely doesn't stand alone. I think the idea of vampire pirates is just a bit to cheesy for me. I'm sue it goes over much better for tweens and maybe young teens. "
