" I think this is the only book that has literally made me not sleep all night in fear. Anne Rice is very skilled! "

" Narrated mostly by the vampire Lestat (see Interview with a Vampire and The Vampire Lestat, book number 3 of the Vampire Chronicles ties a lot of lose ends together. Anne Rice's style is rich and poetic. Perhaps because of the heightened senses of her characters, the description of the natural world feels like a drug induced psychotropic experience. Most of the story left me with a heart pounding out of body sensation. This saga weaves a darkly modern myth, but stretches back to the days of the pyramids. "

" Was so confused throughout the whole book. Only reason why i am rating it so low. "

" I guess I had gotten used to the single POV of her other books like Interview with a Vampire and The Vampire Lestat. Queen of the Damned is from many different peoples POVs and their individual stories come together toward the end. I find this change in her writing style annoying but kept reading anyway. Not as satisfying a read, however it is good to have read as a background to her many other linked vampire chronicle books. "

" Did you see the movie? Well I hate to break it it you, but it's nothing like the book. It's so much better! I know, lots of people always claim that but I can't stress it enough! The movie left out so much! Even the origins of vampires is quite different! I will admit, the book was dry in some parts, but it was a bit unavoidable. "

" Near the end Anne Rice seems to have gotten lazy. This great long book with loads of history... and then suddenly the last two chapters become the most predictable thing I've read from her. "
