" The first 100 pages were a little slow and boring, and the last 100 pages were a little thin and tiring, the middle 200 pages were fantastically entertaining. I know that this was a breakthrough work with all sorts of taboos when it was written in the 60s, but now it reads a little like, "Yawn, pre-marital sex and sleeping pills. Big whoop." However, I loved getting caught up in the crazy blossoming world of entertainment--Broadway, movies, television--and even though I'm all jaded about sex and drugs in literature, I'm really glad I'm not addicted to pills.
