Publisher Description

Though it couldn't possibly be real, in Typewriter in the Sky, pianist Mike de Wolf suddenly finds himself, through a freak accident, part of an adventure novel being written by his friend, Horace Hackett. To his utter dismay, he finds himself cast as the villain and destined for certain death in this well-written and plot-twisting adventure.

"Oooo this was a lot of fun. A very good imaginative novel. I enjoyed the gimmick of the pianist being stuck in the novel of a not so polished writer musing on that plot in which he is stuck. Good laughs and suspense!"

" Sorta gimmicky...but the last third approaches the satire of God that was probably intended. Dickian but simpler--and even the final picture of God in the sky wearing a dirty bathrobe is very Phil. "

" A silly, pirate tale with the twist that the bad guy has been written into a story that has come to life(!) by his friend the author (see Author as God metaphor). This is Hubbard from his pre-Dianetics, pulp sci-fi days when he was being paid by the word. "

About L. Ron Hubbard

L. Ron Hubbard (1911–1986), with nineteen New York Times bestsellers and more than 230 million copies of his works in circulation, was among the most acclaimed and widely read authors of the twentieth century. As a leading light of American pulp fiction through the 1930s and 1940s, he was further among the most influential authors of the modern age. Indeed, from Ray Bradbury to Stephen King, there is scarcely a master of imaginative tales who has not paid tribute to him.
