"I've read several Courtney Milan books, and liked them all a lot. This one was no different. In the prologue, the heroine is looking forward to trying out a new bit of skimpy lingerie and telling her new husband one of her secrets, when he announces over breakfast that he's leaving for China. Today. At noon. She asks him not to go, he says he has to, and boom. He's gone. Then chapter one opens with the heroine walking across the countryside three years later. Her secret-that she rescues women from abusive situations-has expanded, and her husband still hasn't come home. Except now he has, and he wants to win his wife back. Only she's not sure she's interested. After all, he skipped town 3 months after their wedding, and stayed gone for 3 years. The story blends their reconciliation with the rescue work in a story I really liked. Good Read."

" This is Courtney Milan's second book and it did not disappoint. I have been waiting to read this book and when I won it from Courtney on Twitter, it just made it all the sweeter! Once I received it, I opened it right up and dove in. It was different that all of the other traditional historicals. I loved the POV from both characters. The characteristics, the depth, the writing, everything was wonderful. She is quickly making a spot on my MUST READ list and the excerpt she gave for her THIRD book looks even better. You should definitely have this book on your list, I love it! "

" I'd heard a lot of good things about Courtney Milan, and this book didn't disappoint. There were places the plot was a tiny bit shallow, but Kate and Ned were a fantastic couple, and I was very pleased with the handling of Ned's depression. I enjoy her writing style quite a bit, and will be checking out more! "

" Another romance between married couples. I do like that set-up. And there was the whole womens liberation, saving wives from abusive husbands, finding out your guy is a pretty good guy thing going on. Also, it was pretty hot on the physical side of things. "
