"Other reviews go into more details, but here is my own quick response to The Traitor's Emblem. Once I started reading, I simply could not put it down. This was a true page-turner, as it was very well developed, and structured as a novel. Also, there is no doubt a tremendous amount of research was conducted by Gomez Jurado, with a lot of information around which to frame a story. One of the best historical novels I've ever read. It's disguised as a thriller, but when you think about it this is the tale of how Germany went downhill because of Hitler. Think about it while you enjoy this great novel."

" The Traitor's Emblem recounts the tale of Paul Reiner, a man searching for his father's murderer in Germany between the two world wars, an adventure that eventually reveals buried family secrets, leads to a betrayal by a brother, and the discovery of buried treasure. In the course of the novel, Paul finds himself making similar mistakes as his father made, although his fate is ultimately different. The historical setting of Nazi Germany also heightens the drama by including several Jewish characters who struggle to adapt their lives to the new regime. "

" Well, finished this a few hours ago after occasional gaps in progress and indeed enjoyed it immensely. It made a deep impression on me, as I could easy spot paralelisms between 1920's Germany and nowadays. I could have read a hundred pages more, but it is a captivating story overall. This one it is screaming to be a Hollywood blockbuster. "

" The book was a rather interesting and fun read although the ending was a bit anti-climactic and a bit of a let-down. All and all though, it held my interest and was well written. I look forward to more of this author's work. "

" This was such a good book. It's based on a true story and deals with Hitler, Germany, and parts of the Holocaust. Love, hate, murder, suspense, history, and adventure are all intertwined in this book. This is the second book I've read by Gomez-Jurado - I plan on reading the rest of them! "

" I give this five stars for the characters, writing, and clever ideas in authentic context - like following a sort of high-quality soap opera. Jurgen, Paul and Alys form such a bizarre love triangle that you can't put the book down. "
