"I love Jane True, and her perfectly sarcastic attitudes at just the right time. I also really love how the writing is realistic -- she's not an instant badass as soon as she finds out what she is, and she's also realistic about her relationship. Trying not to give too much away, she doesn't just instantly fall in love with the first guy she sleeps with, and expects him to save her all the time. She's learning more about what she can become, and I love how she goes about it."

" I loved the second installment of the Jane True series by Nicole Peeler. Jane is coming into her own in this book and I enjoyed reading about her progression as a halfling. Ms. Peeler has a great writing style and a wonderful sense of humor. Cannot wait to read more about Jane and her travels. :) "

" So this is a 3.5. It was just slow moving and I couldn't believe I liked the first one so much...then I got to the last 50 pages and I couldn't put it down and now I am ready for the 3rd. I am also ready for Jane to drop Ryu for good and go after Anyan, I am really liking his character. "

" Another fun romp with a mystery to solve. Jane and the other characters are a lot more complex in this book I thought which made it more interesting to read. Still fun though and I'm looking forward to reading the next one when it arrives! "

" i really wanted to love this one, but it was just too similar to the first book. everything i predicted came true it just didn't do it for me. i most likely won't Finnish the series. sad to say... "

" I liked it so much less than the first one which I really enjoyed. I just want her to stop dathering with Ryu and start dating Anyan already! I had trouble keeping to the story and found myself thinking while reading which is never good. I hope the third book in the series will be much better. "

" I missed out on the first book in this series - my local library didn't have it, but I had no problem getting into the story or getting to know the characters. I blew through this book and am excited to start reading Tempest's Legacy! "

" I think I'm going to be very upset moving foward with Jane's decisions, although I kind of understand where she's coming from. I've really bought into Ryu, and I don't know how he's going to be a part of this series with the way things are headed. "

" Things are getting dangerous for Jane. She handles it well considering she's just started her magical training. I think that backbone is getting stronger. Sadly Ryu is wanting too much out their relationship. "

" I love sequels that are better than the first book. In this book, Jane True spends less time in bed with her gorgeous vampirian lover and more time investigating crimes against halflings (half human/half supernatural). Anyan, the barghest, plays a bigger role in the novel - much to my liking! "
