" I enjoyed this book far more than the last Agatha Christie I read (They Do It With Mirrors). In that last one the plot was interesting, but the characters seemed to really fall flat, even the popular Miss Marple. "They Came to Baghdad" was void of recognizable characters, with neither Marple nor Poirot making any sort of appearance, yet I found myself more drawn. The characters were full of life, especially the character of Victoria Jones, which made the plot (which I found a bit hard to fully grasp with all its details) an enjoyable story. There is no doubt that Agatha Christie knew how to write, and this novel reaffirmed that for me (especially after the disappointment with TDIWM). The setting in Baghdad was also quite interesting, providing a very different flavour from the typical English countryside of Christie novels (though maybe I've just been exposed to too much Marple!). "

" This was in my top ten Christie books. I really enjoyed this. A little more adventure than her other books I've read and it felt a little Indiana Jones. I liked it. "

" I just remember this being so much fun to read! And I love these ideas from the mid 20th century of a group of conspirators out to control the world. "

" This is surprisingly a spy book by Agatha Cristhie and so it fails to live up to the usual expectations of an Agatha thriller. She is so good when she is solving murders in rural england - but an international spy thriller - nah!! "
