Social media is a crucial tool for success in business today. People are already talking about your business using social media, whether you're using it or not. By becoming part of the conversation, you can start connecting directly to your customers, as well as finding new ones, easily and inexpensively while spreading the word about your products or services.

But social media marketing isn't like traditional marketing - and treating it that way only leads to frustration. Let Shama Hyder Kabani, president of Web marketing firm Marketing Zen and social-media expert, teach you the zen of social media marketing: how to access all the benefits of social media marketing without the stress!

With a foreword by New York Times best-selling author Chris Brogan, The Zen of Social Media Marketing outlines the most popular social media tools, from Facebook to Twitter to LinkedIn, and teaches you how to use them, step by step. She provides proven strategies for success from the businesses she works with every day, along with shortcuts and tips to help you make the most of your time and energy.

The Zen of Social Media Marketing is also the last social media guide you'll ever need: with the physical book you also get access to the exclusive online edition, which includes regular updates and video extras to make sure you're always on top of the latest in social media.

" It's okay and Shama Kabani is awesome (I hear her speak last year at a PRSA conference). But as with any social media book, there is always the problem of information being outdated by the time it goes to print. Honestly, I expected more from this book but it is still a good source of information. "

" Shama provides a quick and easy read that explains how to dip your toes in the waters of social media without getting bogged down into a huge time suck. Her screen shots of the various social media outlets provide a good little "look see" for those who aren't that familiar with them. And the examples at the end of the book are rather promising. "

  • 2 out of 52 out of 52 out of 52 out of 52 out of 5 Sarah | 2/1/2014

" Although this is only two years old, it felt pretty out-of-date. I know that there are updates online, but it seems like a hassle to go chase after them. I think it could have been written to be a little less zeitgeisty and more useful for _any_ social media technology. It seemed overly specific. "

" this book is fantastic! im starting an internship in a couple of weeks where im focusing on the social media aspect of a nonprofit. needless to say i really dont know what im getting into even though i use facebook on a regular basis. this book is great at explaining how to use facebook, twitter, and linked in for marketing purposes. Shama does a fantastic job! it was really a good buy and i totally recommend it to anyone who wants a better understanding of how to use social media for marketing. "

  • 3 out of 53 out of 53 out of 53 out of 53 out of 5 Richard Sparks | 1/11/2014

" I found the early chapters useful - the description of Shama's methodology of Attract, Convert, and Transform to guide your social marketing tactics. Other chapters dealt specifically with Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and YouTube. If you haven't learned much about those social networks this info would be useful, but probably not if you've already been working with them. "

" This book was highly recommended by my friend..and after reading it, It made me see why this book receive great reviews. This is highly recommended for those who like to know more about social media , without wanting to consult their dictionary every now and then because of 'technical' words used. "
