Publisher Description

A wonderful, highly-acclaimed dramatic performance of Kenneth Grahame's classic novel.

Many of the original cast from Alan Bennett's acclaimed National Theatre production appear in this special dramatisation for BBC Radio 4, including Richard Briers as Rat, Adrian Scarborough as Mole, and Terence Rigby as Albert.

When Mole goes boating with the Water Rat instead of spring-cleaning, he discovers a new world. As well as the river and the Wild Wood, there is Toad's craze for fast travel and motor-cars that leads them all on a timeless adventure.

"Where have I been all my life? I had never read this book and didn't know what I was missing! The whimsical descriptions, the characters, and the charming pastoral setting make it a delightful escape. I can only wish I had read it as a kid; guess reading it now is the next best thing! "

" I listened to an audio version of this, and found it somewhat entertaining. The best chapters are those with the toad. Fine book for children (advanced reading level), lots of lessons that can be learned, though they use "ass" about 12 times. "
