First published in 1908, The Wind in the Willows belongs to a golden age of children's book. These charming tales of the riverbank, describing the adventures of Ratty, Mole, Badger, and their irrepressible but conceited friend, Toad of Toad Hall, have become classics loved as much, perhaps, by adults as by children.

" The adventures of four friends – Toad, Mole, Water Rat, and Badger – are depicted in this classic story. Toad is especially hilarious. After he is imprisoned for stealing a car, he escapes (with the help of a little girl) and the fun begins! "

" Oh was I scared to read this book when my mum brought this for me and my brother to read. It took me ages to pick it up...the front cover was not very appealing to us. They could have drawn a better picture to lure us in to reading this classic story. Still was never to be a childhood Favourite. "

" My kids loved this book, it was like pulling teeth to get me through it. When we finished they kept asking to read it again! I did finally at the end understand why it is a classic--it does teach about consequences and responsibility. "

What a delightful book. We are reading it for Classic Rereads book club. I loved it. Stephanie was in our community theater's production of it when she was in HS. "
