"This was a fantastic read! At times I wanted to punch Jo in the face. It seemed she never wanted to be part of the team and wanted to do things her own way no matter what cost. I really enjoy Hunter's character and would hope that they are able to develop something more. I doubt that will happen though because of her love for Ben. Ben is her first love, and the one who always gets her pulse racing. I kinda hope she gets over it and builds a relationship with Hunter. He understands her, and does not fear her. I don't think Ben would understand her shadow and light sides. Can't wait to read the next one!"

" Took this on vacation as an emergency book - it was really bad. Couldn't finish it. I really wanted to like it - I really did and I admire the author for creating a heroine and new world. I just can't get beyond a hero that continually puts people in dire straits (her troop, a little girl, a would-be boyfriend, an old boy friend...) "

" I really want to like this series. I like that it's set in Las Vegas although I really feel like they could do more with the city. The whole superhero group versus supervillian group is fun and I really like that the membership levels are fixed and new heroes come in when old ones are eliminated. However, I just can't get into the books. They're too long and somewhat unfocused at times, which is a style of writing I find particularly annoying. This series would make some interesting movies. Probably better than the books. "

" 2nd book in the series. I like the idea of "superheroes" organized into troops (like cub scouts or brownies), and their lives documented in comic books. Otherwise....well, thats really all thats going for it. Good beach reading though. "

" I liked this one better than the others. Joanna is becoming more her own person than being jerked around by everyone else. I like where the story is going too. There's always those cliffhangers in this series though. It kind of makes it feel like each book isn't a complete story by itself. "

About Vicki Pettersson

Vicki Pettersson is the New York Times bestselling author of the Sign of the Zodiac series. Born and raised in Las Vegas, Pettersson worked briefly in public relations before realizing that working on assignment wasn’t for her. A decade later, she became an “instant” bestseller with the release of the first book, The Scent of Shadows. She and her family divide their time between Las Vegas and Dallas.
