"The Talking Eggs is a great book about two daughters named Rose and Blanche. Blanche is kind, warm hearted child, and Rose is the mean child. After a fight with her mom and sister, Blanche ran off into the woods and ran into an old woman who invited her to her home only if she promised she wouldn't laugh at her home. She was very well behaved and listened to the old woman. As a reward, she told her to pick out the eggs that said "take me," and not the ones that said, "don't take me." The pretty decorated eggs were the forbidden eggs and she resisted, so she was rewarded with pretty dresses and a horse and carriage. The other sister, Rose, came to the old lady the next day but could not resist the decorated eggs, so all she got were wild creatures chasing after her. Blanche then went to the city and lived like a grand lady, while Rose and her mother lived in the forest for the rest of their lives."

" I thought this book was very suspenseful, I was on the edge of my seat wondering what was going to happen to the evil mother and sister. Even from the very beginning, I felt like I knew Blanche, and wanted her to get even with her evil family. This book has a lot of magic and crazy things in it that I think people of all ages would enjoy and be startled by. It makes me wonder, would I be able to just take the plain eggs? "

" I really enjoyed this book because of its message. The story shows how being kind, listening, and having a good heart can get you farther in life. The young girl had been mistreated her entire life by her mother and sister but remained sweet. Her kind heart resulted in her many riches and jewels. I loved this book because of the message and it is definitely a good read! "
