"I just started this one, and it's intriguing so far. I like the characters and it's a pleasure to read. I'm usually a sucker for books written about English characters. British English colloquialisms are just so bloody endearing. So far so good.... "

" Not Weldon's best work. The format gives her a vehicle for a series of different stories, but almost all of them are focussed on sexual relationships. "

" A good read. I love the writing style of Fay Weldon. This is not my favorite of her books because it was basically a bunch of little stories within a big story, but they were all still interesting. "

" Again it's between 3 and 4 stars for me. Did enjoy it but there were just too many stories. I liked the central character best and liked the way it ended but thought it could have been half as long. "

" Fay Weldon novels are always an intelligent, thoughtful and humourous read - I'm certainly a fan of her writing. I was gripped by the tales within this novel, the voice of each character was so well written that for me they simply leapt from the page. "

" Strange book. Not chick lit. Very slow; had to force myself to finish it. Really more of a collection of short stories disguised as a novel. Overall boring. "

" This book is a 21st century version of The Canterbury Tales set in a women's spa. I wanted to enjoy this book, but I never really got into it. The first few tales were interesting, but it got boring about half-way through. The library due date came, so I returned it without finishing it. "
