" I had some trouble getting into this book at first, but once the plot got moving, it was a real pleasure to read. The universe of the books is really interesting and left me wanting to discover more. Put very simplistically, it's a modern world with comic book heroes secretly running around in it. I personally think there could be way more superhero urban fantasy on my shelves. The main character (Joanna) has a chip on her shoulder the size of Vegas and is sometimes annoying but I think I'd hang out and have drinks were we to meet in real life. As I've already mentioned, the plot was a little slow at first, but it really picks up steam by the end. I purchased the sequel very soon after I finished. "

" okay this book is a bit far-fetched even for me i got lost in the fight scenes sometimes and found the end very anti-climatic but some of the time i enjoyed the book i would consider reading the rest in the series "

  • 3 out of 53 out of 53 out of 53 out of 53 out of 5 Rebecca | 8/18/2012

" It was the Kim Harrison blurb that got me. Sort of an odd comic book styling obviously slanted towards the romance fantasy crowd aka women. Very readable, I will probably read the next in the series. Really doesn't compare to my beloved Rachel of the Hollows however. "
