This powerful meditation illuminates the parable of the prodigal son found in Luke's Gospel. Nouwen discovers anew the reality that God's love is unconditional and shares his own spiritual journey with us.

In this audiobook, Nouwen shares his own experience as the wayward son as well as the vengeful older brother and the compassionate father. He speaks to all who have known loneliness, dejection, jealousy, or anger, and invites us to homecoming, affirmation, and reconciliation.

" I'm one of the few people who don't enjoy Houwen's writing. The book was good in that it forced me to reflect, but at times I felt like we were reading tea leaves rather than interacting with something of substance. I know I'm in the minority here, but I didn't enjoy this book very much at all. "

" Esse é um dos meus preferidos. Nouwen é de uma transparência impressionante, muito rara entre cristãos. Depois de lê-lo entendi que vida cristã é sempre uma volta pra casa. "

" A great book to make you think. The author describes his own thoughts on Rembrandt's famous picture in a way that makes the reader start making his own thoughts on being the younger son, the older brother and the father. "

" I thought this is a book that anyone can relate to. Nouwen breaks down this famous bible story in a way that makes it easy to see your self in at least (or more) of the characters. It was beautifully written and insightful. "

" An interesting book, reflecting on Rembrandt's painting of the return of the Prodigal Son. Nouwen reflects on his spiritual journey, thinking of himself in turn as younger son, older son, and finally father. Quite thought-provoking in places. "
