Sherlock Holmes did not lose his life at the Reichenbach Falls. Nor has three years of absence taken away his power to startle the faithful Dr. Watson. But it is the Park Lane mystery---the murder of the Honorable Ronald Adair---that brings Holmes back to life and the search for the second most dangerous man in London.

And when that case is satisfactorily concluded, Holmes is once again free to devote himself to examining 12 more of those interesting little problems that the complex life of London so plentifully presents.

The Return of Sherlock Holmes contains the following tales: The Adventure of the Empty House, The Adventure of the Norwood Builder, The Adventure of the Dancing Men, The Adventure of the Solitary Cyclist, The Adventure of the Priory School, The Adventure of Black Peter, The Adventure of Charles Augustus Milverton, The Adventure of the Six Napoleons, The Adventure of the Three Students, The Adventure of the Golden Pince-Nez, The Adventure of the Missing Three-Quarter, The Adventure of the Abbey Grange, and The Adventure of the Second Stain.

" Read the "Adventures..." first, and then read this. If you really come to love Sherlock, then you can enjoy these for what they are. "

" I love the Sherlock Holmes books! They have mysteries to solve without all of the ridiculous love stories. "

" One of the most famous Sherlock Holmes's collection of short stories. While the all stories included in this book were just amazing and recommenedable for all readers, I personally felt the story in the book called "The Adventure of the Dancing Men" was most exciting. The story is about Sherlock Holmes's search for a piece of paper with this mysterious sequence of stick figures that was sent to Mr. Hilton Cubitt of Ridling Thorpe Manor in Norfolk. Soon afterwards Sherlock Holmes had noticed the importance of the paper, Cubitt and his wife were shot by strangers and Cubitt died. Right after this, Sherlock Holmes began to search for the murderer.... The way Sherlock Holmes had reached to his final reasoning was so exciting, and fromi this point of view, I would like to recommend this book for all fans of mystery book. "

" Getting a bit repetive in their introductions, after three volumes... just as good as the others, but will give these short stories a rest before tackling the other two volumes. "

" Once again, I was not disappointed by the writing of these fantastic stories by Doyle. In this particular work, my favorite adventures were The Dancing Men, Charles Augustus Milverton, The Golden Pince-Nez, and The Three Students...but really, I loved all of the mysteries. I noted how believeable Doyle makes his characters, and how excited I get at each unexpected twist in the stories that I tried, but could never predict. The perspective from Watson keeps the reader baffled and surprised by Holmes as Watson remains to be despite the many intellectual feats his partner has triumphed. Doyle also writes with great detail of the places so that you feel as if you can actually see the scene in England. He also did not disappoint with the amazing deductions the character of Sherlock Holmes makes, which I always try to incorporate into my own observations. ; ) "
