Publisher Description

From number-one New York Times best-selling author and USA TODAY best-selling author J. R. Ward, writing as Jessica Bird. The classic tale of a man who always got what he wanted - until he met the one woman he couldn't afford to lose.

Nate Walker has never shied away from the hard road. Even when it meant leaving behind his family's wealth - and the fiancée who only wanted a rich man. Nothing was going to stop him from opening his own five-star restaurant.

And he was on his way, until his car broke down on a dark road in the Adirondacks, leading him right to White Caps Inn - and Frankie Moorehouse.

Suddenly, Nate has a job he doesn't really need and an affair that has to end when summer does. Except Frankie has a way about her. She gets under his skin. She even makes him want to do what he never thought he could: stay forever.

"I LOVE J.R.Ward and this is the first book I am reading from her as Jessica Bird. It was fun and I really liked it. I would have preferred that the love scenes contain more spice but, I realize this is not like the other books I have previously read from Ward. I DO look foward to continuing the series though and seeing what comes next for Joy, Alex and the rest. Nate was lovely and I enjoyed the chemistry between he and Frankie."

" I loved this whole series. I like Jessica Bird better than J.R. Ward which I know isn't popular. "

" I was really disappointed in this book. I love her Black Dagger Brotherhood books but this just couldn't compare. It reminded me again of why I don't read straight romance novels. She needed this, he had it. He needed this, she had it. She didn't want to like him one minute than was offering up casual sex the other. Such a disappointment. "

" Not a bad book per se, but nothing like BDB or her fallen angels series. Pure fluff, light on plot. I expected a whole lot more. "

" As always, JR Ward does not disappoint. I loved the characters and felt really drawn into the world she created. It was little predictable, but I do not feel as though that took away from the book. Overall, a good, quick read. "

" This book is the start of a spinoff series of two other books by Jessica Bird 1. An Unforgettable Lady & 2. An Irresistible Bachelor. I liked those books more, but this seems to be a good start to a series. "

" Very fun read. He's a chef. She's a Bed & Breakfast owner. Her cook has just quit. His car's just broke down. Although the chemistry between the two is obvious, she's decided to not give in to the temptation that he presents. He has other plans. Guess who wins? lol "
