" This is an older one. I didn't find it thrilling by any means, but it was a nice book to read every so often and eventually finish up. It kind of reminded me of Anne of Green Gables in a way, in that the book is kind of made up of retellings of events/catastrophes/little occurrences that happen in the lives of the main characters each day. Cute and sweet. "

" I read this to my 3 children at a time when they were similar ages as the children in the story. They loved it! We watched the movie after the book and loved that too. I think it may have been a Master Piece Theatre movie. "

" This book will wake up the child in you, I did not know how i missed this when i am a kid. "

" Wonderful Children's book. Written in 1906 - very well written. Listened to it on an Audio book. Story was very well woven and the characters were all well developed. Really enjoyed how the author would get into the children's heads - I can remember thinking that way myself. "

Not quite as depressing but just as entertaining! Fun reading for any youngster, no matter what the age. "
