Publisher Description

This historic album from America's foremost commentator on everything provides telling and hilarious insight into Black's earlier years in standup, before The Daily Show, before the Grammys, and before the massive fame. The Prophet CD was recorded in late 1990 while Lewis was on tour and exemplifies his acid-tongued wit, his prescience about what matters, and his hilarious takes on the politics of the times.

"A series of 'short stories' within a fairly short story, and more.....and each will get you thinking, deeper and more spiritually than before. Gibran has a way with words, and great thoughts, and writes so well that on each page you'll find yourself going 'aha', or 'oh!' or 'oh my....'. Some of the stories can be cread within two minutes and so are more like modern-day parables. Hugely recommended. Great to read from cover to cover and/or have on the coffee table for the occassional evening read etc, great for a birthday or Christmas gift."

" Written as a metaphor for death? Death as experienced by the living? This exposition and explosion on the basic tenets of living a bold love-filled life is a must read for all. An abandonment, of all one thinks he knows of living, is death indeed. Gibran is a master at love expressed. "
