"Excellent book following the style of Gene Edwards. This question pierces through your heart: Can you follow a God that does not meet your expectations? Based on the life and death of John "The Baptizer", Gene helps us wrestle with the reality that God may not produce the outcomes we expect even when we're obedient and faithful. This book will give you plenty to chew on for a while. Highly recommend it."

" Super quick read. Kind of an interesting idea: definitely thought provoking. For the time it takes, definitely worth it in my book. (No pun intended.) "

" Very inspirational - facing the future without answers can be difficult and in this short book the author focuses on trusting what we know of God instead of focusing on what we do not know. "

" I agree with an earlier assessment that the theology is very flawed and the story takes liberties that spoiled the book for me. It had the potential to be so good and was a huge disappointment. Thank goodness it was a quick read. "

" This profound book was a huge transforming influence in my walk with God. When my husband picked it up and flipped through it, I was so protective. Hehe! I told him not to read it until he could give it the time and attention it deserves. =) I still feel that way a bout it. Read it and be changed "

" Short, but very thought-provoking. Even John the Baptist sent to Jesus asking if He was the Messiah. God heals some people, but not everyone. He saves some from terrible tragedies, but not all. Do we believe and trust Him even when He doesn't do what we expect or think He should do? "
