A sparkling tale of a Princess from the author of The Gruffalo

The princess may try seven times to escape by changing her colour and changing her shape. But each time Princess Camellia changes - into a blue fish, a yellow chick, a red fox or a black cat - the wicked wizard finds her and sets her another horrible task.

"I was never lucky enough to read this delightful book as a child- I'm just a little too old. Instead, this was one of the most popular requests for story time in a reception classroom I've spent a lot of time helping out in, and with good reason! "

" The princess has a birthday party where an uninvited wizard turns up and turns the guests to stone. The princess is taken captive and attempts to escape with little success until she has a bright idea. A strong female character and a clever solution. "

" Lovely book with lots of glitter and sparkle, nice story but it just didn't have the magic that I've come to associate with Donaldson & Scheffler (this is illustrated by someone else). I miss the lovely rhyming and flow of Gruffalo et al "

" I'm yet to read a book by Julia Donaldson that I don't love. With clever female characters outsmarting the baddies, as well as being fun to read aloud to my two daughters, every time I pick up a new one I'm impressed all over again. "

" A fun story about a witch that is flying her broom and then looses her hat and brings a new friend on board. Thi story is good for imaging because the children can use their previous knowledge to make illustrations for the story. A really fun story for children. "
