" A pretty good read. Fast-paced, but very predictable! Middle school aged kids will love it though. It has suspense, mystery, and the supernatural aspect as well. I enjoyed it, but didn't love it. "

" Not terrible, but not great either. I thought the church was a great place for the haunting, although the author didn't use it much. The idea that girl after girl looked alike and all were touched by tragedy was slightly hard to buy. The presence himself was well written. Poor Catherine, she must really be dumb, well if she wasn't, she sure was written that way. I think the author should have done more with Collin and Catherine. A quick read which was perfect for Halloween. "

" The Presence is a story about a girl named Catherine who lived in Chicago. She had lost her friend in an accident so her parents decided to send her to her grandmother's house for a change. Her grandmother lived in California where she worked in a church. The church was old and had recently been declared a historic site. When Catherine goes to the church, she decides to walk around. While she was in a room, she heard someone call her name. She went to her grandmother and told her about this. She thought that she was imagining things since she was still in shock after her friend's death. Later in the story, Catherine meets Noah. Noah was a handsome 17 year old. Noah was not really a seventeen year old. He was a ghost who had done some evil things while he was alive and god never forgave him for that. That was why his ghost was trapped in the church. Catherine finds this out later when she was spying on him. While spying on him, she accidently sets the church on fire. Noah saves her and he dies in the fire himself. This made Catherine feel bad about herself for not trusting Noah. The themes covered in this book include- Confusion, Fear, Death, Jealousy and guilt. The book also consisted of alot of great imagery. I would recommend this book to other people since its an easy read. The language used in the book is simple and the characters have been defined well. On the whole, this book was good! "

" I didn't enjoy this book at all!!! It got two stars simply because it kept me interested enough to finish it. It wasn't scary; the plot was predictable; I felt no connection to the characters. It was mundane at best. "

" There could have been so much more to this. It was simple. No surprises or anything to keep you on your seat. It was just..bland. Boring. It was short so that was a good thing. Then ending was not the best. The characters were not intertwined well together. It was predictable. "
