"Faith and action don't always go hand in hand. It's always been a personal struggle for me. If I claim to worship the same God as another person, how can we end up practicing our faith so differently? Hill has similar struggles, but on a scale many of us could never imagine. Her arguments are laid out well, and her examples are terrifying. A great read for anyone who is attracted to things they don't understand, assuming (like me) that Scientology is one of those things."

" Interesting story, but the writing is laborious. Considering the poor girl's "education," though, and considering that the Church of Scientology will probably look for any misplaced word that might enable them to sue her, I can forgive the odd writing style. "

" If you are interested at all in reading/learning more about scientology, this is an excellent book to read. The author has a great personal insight into this "religion," as not only was she the niece of the current leader of scientology, but she also was raised in it since childhood. Some of the periods of her life I find appalling, while others were a little more "normal." As an outsider, it is very hard to understand the world she grew up in, and the sacrifices she was forced to give up. Some of the information is a little hard to follow, making some of the chapters a little much for the reader, but overall, when the book is finished, it is very knowledgeable and helpful to an outsider, giving us great insight. I would suggest this book to anyone that is the least bit interested in the topic. Hopefully the more people that read this book, or books like this, will give the public more information on how to put an end to some of the tragedy. I just wish that children didn't have to endure any of this, I think that's the real tragedy. "
