Publisher Description

When a best-selling novelist begins writing an allegory of her troubled son's life, she soon wonders how much control she has over her creation. Angela Hunt, best-selling, Christy Award-winning author of more than 70 books, fills The Novelist with suspense and spiritual dilemmas. Through alternating narratives, it achieves additional drama. "... this novel ... shows poignancy and imagination." -Publishers Weekly

"I had to read a CHristian Fiction book for a group I belong to, and I chose this one because a friend said she was good. And I did like it - she writes well and doesn't come off heavy-handed or preachy. And the story is grittier than I would expect from a Christian Fiction novel - it deals with mental illness, and how we can be blind to our friends and families cries for help out of being selfish - which is a difficult thing to admit."

" I didn't realize it was a Christian novel at first because the author wasn't preachy and I liked that. The main character just happens to be the author of a famous action/adventure series. When challenged by a student of the summer college class she is teaching, to put more of herself into a novella, Jordan Casey is stuck. But she soon writes with her son in mind as he struggles with drugs and alcohol. Good story and I also enjoyed the allegory inside the story. "

" I had a hard time getting into this book. I struggled till about 3/4 of the way through it. Got into it finally and it was just over. Nothing real exciting about this book. Not the usual Angela Hunt great read. I ended up seeing where she took the story, and got the parallels of what she was trying to teach her son. "
