" As weird tales go, these leave me feeling a little cold. She's excellent in terms of form, but I always feel like she's trying to show me how clever she's been at her writing exercises. In short, I just don't really care. Give me something really weird instead. "

" Joyce Carol Oates never disappoints with her short stories. Some of them were creepy as hell. The book was worth the $4 I paid. The first story is probably the best and it's only 4 pages long.
