" Well. This certainly went better than The Reincarnationist, but there is still something lacking in the author's ability to weave the story (with the multiple characters and twined plots and flashbacks) into an engrossing and coherent tale. Too often I got lost in what was happening - I forgot whose flashback belonged to whom, and missed steps in the 'mystery', as it was. I will say that I enjoyed the drama of this book more than the first. I especially enjoyed the touches of many people experiencing 'past life regressive episodes', not just the key characters from the text. I'm excited for the third of the series, as I've heard it to be the best, but I wish there was a more developed description of the science, a better insight into these characters, and some way for the author to push these novels out of the 'good try' category and into the 'great read' category.
