Publisher Description

Ella is feeling painfully alone. Her best friend has gone off with someone else. Her stepdad is tired and grumpy. The new baby screams his head off. And worst of all, her mum is in a coma in hospital, unable to touch or talk to anyone.

A new school project seems a real bore, but the more Ella discovers about whales, the more she becomes enchanted by them. Whales can sing for hours, calling out their love to each other underwater. Could whale song reach Mum in her otherwise silent world?

A tender, moving story that is sure to delight all Jacqueline Wilson fans. Jacqueline Wilson reads her poignant new story about families, friendship and hope.

"i decided to read this book because i got it for christmas. this completes the box 'a book written by a female'. i liked this book because it was surprizingly factual. it had lots of facts about whales but it was false story. insane. some parts of this story were quite sad but some were funny and exciting. i would recommend to anyone, although it is quite a long one."

" One of Jacqueline's best IMHO. A story about coping with loss, about finding what's real in life and what isn't... Better than most adult books. I was deeply impressed. And to pull off the ending without being cheesy is truly something! Thumbs up. "
