Publisher Description

"I see your future clearly. Your master will be dead, and you will be alone. It would be better if you had never been born."

Thomas Ward is the apprentice for the local Spook, who banishes boggarts and drives away ghosts. But now a new danger is threatening Tom's world: the witches are rising and the three most powerful clans are uniting in order to conjure an unimaginable evil.

Tom and the Spook set out to stop the witches before they unleash the demon. But when Tom finds himself on his own, he wonders if he has the courage and cunning to defeat the most powerful enemy he has ever encountered.

"What can i say!!! loved this book. this book was a very good eye opening book. i saw some of the stuff coming. Like the fact that Tom's mom is a witch, and that she would leave all of her stuff to him. but i didn't see that the room was all safe and that the trunks would be full of her sister's. The pindle witch's gave them a run for there money. but Tom had a trick up his sleeve and he didn't even know it yet. This is the first book that made the "bad" thing get the better of the spook and Tom. this book was way good i am already started the 5th book."

" I didn't like this one as much as I've liked the first three. I had a hard time focusing on it, and I think part of the problem was that there wasn't as much interaction with the side characters that I usually enjoy (Alice and the Spook, chiefly). However, I will still eagerly look forward to the 5th book! "

About Joseph Delaney

Joseph Delaney (1945-2022) was an English teacher before becoming the bestselling author of the Spook's series, which has been published in 30 countries and sold millions of copies. Revenge of the Witch was adapted into a 2014 film, Seventh Son, by director Sergei Bodrov; its cast included Kit Harrington, Jeff Bridges, and Julianne Moore. He was the author of two other series of novels, Arena 13 and Aberrations. He lived in Lancashire, England, and most of the places in the Spook’s books are based on real places in Lancashire. The inspiration behind the stories often comes from local ghost stories and legends. The Spook’s Apprentice, The Spook’s Curse, and The Spook’s Secret have all been shortlisted for the Lancashire children’s Book for the Year Award. The Spook’s Apprentice won both the Sefton Book Award and the Hampshire Book Award.
