Using a cutting-edge technology called DHI - which stands for both Disney Host Interactive and Daylight Hologram Imaging - Finn Whitman, an Orlando teen, and four other kids are transformed into hologram projections that guide guests through the park.

The new technology turns out, however, to have unexpected effects that are both thrilling and scary. Soon Finn finds himself transported in his DHI form into the Magic Kingdom at night. Is it real? Is he dreaming?

Finn's confusion only increases when he encounters Wayne, an elderly Imagineer who tells him that the park is in grave danger. Led by the scheming witch, Maleficent, a mysterious group of characters called the Overtakers is plotting to destroy Disney's beloved realm, and maybe more.

This gripping high-tech tale will thrill every kid who has ever dreamed of sneaking into Walt Disney World after hours and wondered what happens at night, when the park is closed.

" The concept is so scary and cool that if you can get past the slow start, ridiculous dialog, cardboard characters and gaping plot holes, it's a fun read. "

  • 4 out of 54 out of 54 out of 54 out of 54 out of 5 Ella | 2/9/2014

" This book is AMAZING!! I was always a Disney lover but, this opened my eyes to new side of Disney! "

  • 5 out of 55 out of 55 out of 55 out of 55 out of 5 Ashlee | 2/6/2014

" This is an amazing book! It is fast-paced and full of adventure. Any Disney fan will love this great story! When five kids became DHIs, they never expected what it would bring to them. This is a real page-turner. I never wanted to stop reading it! I found myself reliving all of my visits to Disneyland (though, its set in Disneyworld) as a DHI. It is one of the most interesting concepts on the subject I have found and I could read it again and again. From creepy Small World dolls, to violent pirates with Buzz Lightyear lazers, this book has got everything! But then, what would this story be without bringing back one of the most feared villains of all time? Welcome back, Malificent! "

" Excellent children's mystery at Disney World. My kids have loved this series and are looking forward to Book IV. "

" Probably one of my favorite books I read as a tween or teen (or whatever you're called at that age). I've always loved the magical world of Disney and this story just took it to a whole new level! "

" I agree with every1 else this idea should have been great!! I read this specifically because Maleficient is my favorite Disney character. I think it could have been more descriptive about Disney World. The author assumes you have been there which I haven't. Would love to go though! I'm halfway through the book & nothing much really has happened in the way of action.I think it will get better closer to the end. I think this book could have been alot better. "

  • 3 out of 53 out of 53 out of 53 out of 53 out of 5 Phoebe | 12/26/2013

" A pretty exciting fantasy adventure for preteens. The interesting premise of the Magic Kingdom under attack from mysterious, evil forces, a situation that can only be fixed by 5 kids, has lots of appeal. Strong on plot, but the characters are a little flat. "

  • 4 out of 54 out of 54 out of 54 out of 54 out of 5 Kayla | 12/24/2013

" The book club kids wanted to read this one. I felt that the characters were flat, and though the plot moved along at a nice pace, I needed a little extra help to suspend my disbelief about a key piece of technology that allowed everything to happen. "

  • 2 out of 52 out of 52 out of 52 out of 52 out of 5 Sarah | 11/10/2013

" It was okay. I probably wouldn't have read it if I didn't meet the author and do a behind the scenes tour at Disney with him. "

" Not bad for the most part. It seems to need more character development to really work. For a Disney book I felt it needed a little more magic. "

  • 2 out of 52 out of 52 out of 52 out of 52 out of 5 Catherine | 10/31/2012

" Slow & boring... My son liked for me to read a chapter a night to him, but I was unfulfilled by it. I think he's just four & likes to hear me read. lol "

" Geared towards Disney lovers, and those that have frequented the Disney world Parks, a nice tale of what if fairy tales and park attractions were able to go beyond the park walls and our imaginations!! loved the connections to Walt Disney World. "

  • 2 out of 52 out of 52 out of 52 out of 52 out of 5 Camela | 7/9/2012

" This book had some very entertaining spots, but overall felt more like it was just written as another promotion for Disney. I will probably read the next book in the series because I just can't leave a series hanging unless it is truly awful. "

  • 5 out of 55 out of 55 out of 55 out of 55 out of 5 Katherine | 1/2/2012

" It was a lot better than what i was expecting. I expected for it to be a book for kids but its really a book for everyone that anyone would enjoy. "

  • 4 out of 54 out of 54 out of 54 out of 54 out of 5 Emma | 11/13/2011

" The biggest challenge for me was putting this book down. The characters are very relatable and it becomes very easy to be taken away into Pearson's world. Once you read this, your perspective on Disney may change, but this book is great for teens such as myself. "

  • 5 out of 55 out of 55 out of 55 out of 55 out of 5 Karen | 10/29/2011

  • 4 out of 54 out of 54 out of 54 out of 54 out of 5 Jessica | 10/16/2011

" super fun, fast read. I basically read this book in a day. The fact that it's a YA fantasy might have had something to do with that, but it's also a super fun read. I loved exploring Disney World after dark with these kids. Can't wait to read the next one. "

" The beginning grasps you from the first chapter. This book is what happens to Disney World after the park closes and a little while the park is open. It incorperated many of the Disney World's most famous attractions. It mainly takes place in Magic Kingdom. But also goes to other parks as well. "

" Too kidsy for me. Yes, I know it's a book for kids, but I have enjoyed a lot of YA lately so I thought I'd give this a try. This one is more teen than YA. Don't think I'll be continuing with this series. "

  • 4 out of 54 out of 54 out of 54 out of 54 out of 5 Trina | 9/9/2011

    "
