In this episode of Jim Benton's New York Times best-selling series, the classmates of Franny K. Stein show no appreciation for her passion - mad science. Even when Franny displays her two-headed robot, they show little interest. But after Franny makes herself invisible and whispers robot-improving suggestions, a few kids believe they've actually become mad scientists and cause the robot to run amuck. And as it's poised to destroy the library, Franny must think quickly to save the valuable books from stupidity gone wild.

"My favorite of the Franny books so far. We've read at least four of them now. The later ones have a slight showing of some "attitude" but this one and the first, Lunch Walks Among Us, keep Aidan busy for days----creating similar inventions in his "lab" ;-) " — Deirdre (4 out of 5 stars)

" Something I wouldn't necessarily have picked up, but another mom recommended them for Andy now that he's moved into the "chapter book" phase of 1st grade. He loved it and keeps saying things like "do you remember in chapter 17 of Franny K Stein..." so I guess we'll call this one a winner "
" An interesting story about Franny who wants to prove to her classmates that she is a mad scientist, so she creates a robot and brings it to school. This is a fun book for students to learn about science and friendship. "
